Page statuses are there to define what stage the document is in as it passes through your workflow. e.g. With Designer, With Legal, With Client etc.
To create page statuses for your selected publication,
Go to the Page Status tab and click on the Create button.
Complete the following details in the Standard tab.
Status name. Give the status a name (use alpha-numeric, dashes and underscores only).
Status colour. Select a colour from the palette and click out of the palette to confirm your selection.
Default. Tick this option if you want this status to be the default status when a document is checked-in.
Generation. This option denotes what previews are generated when documents are checked-in with this page status. Select the icons option for a jpg image preview, the PDF option for a PDF generated preview or select both.
PDF type. This option denotes how you want the PDF to be generated in the flat plan when you view a document with this page status. They can be generated as single pages, as a double page spread or even high resolution PDF.
You will also need to complete the following details in the Advanced tab.
Job options. Enter the InDesign Job Option name here should you want your PDFs to be built in a certain quality.
Status change email. Enter your preferred "sender" email address for notifications sent to users whenever this page status is changed.
Hires jpg. Tick this option if you wish for your jpg image previews to be in high resolution when this page status is selected.
Send proof. Tick this option if you wish for your documents to be sent to GoProof when this page status is selected.
Allow missing fonts. Tick this option to allow documents with this status to be checked-in to the issue with missing fonts.
Allow missing links. Tick this option to allow documents with this status to be checked-in to the issue with
Share file. Tick this option to allow documents with this page status to be copied to the server and anyone can check it out even if they don't have the actual document.
Click on the Create button once done.
To edit or delete existing page statuses, click on the ellipsis option and select either Edit or Delete. You can also set a page status as the default via the ellipsis option if you have not done it as the point of creation.
