Fixed plan items are predetermined elements in your publication which remains consistent across different versions, regardless of the changes to the surrounding content or layout. It ensures consistency, improved navigation and better ad or sponsorship placements.

To create a fixed plan item for you and your team members to use in the flat plan while you are in Edit mode,

1. Double-click on a page with a plan item.
2. If it's a full page plan item, click on Advanced.
3. The plan item detail window will appear.
4. Draw a plan item in the grid area, bearing in mind the size you would like to create for your team members to use.
5. Add your plan item details, if needed, and click OK to confirm.
6. Select the plan item you have just created, right-click on it and choose Create fixed size.
7. Complete the plan item's name and size, and click OK to confirm the creation.
8. Click OK again to confirm the plan item.

The fixed size plan item you have created will now appear as an option for your team members to choose from.
